Spring Break in Tahoe!! Mar. 30- April 2

We planned a three night four day trip to Lake Tahoe for our Spring Break with the Hinson's and it turned out to be a blast...despite the chilly temperatures and minor emergency! The kids loved staying in a hotel and having an indoor pool to swim in every day...not to mention the awesome free breakfast every morning and snacks and drinks every afternoon happy hour! We took our bikes and went on a gorgeous and fun bike ride one day and then a cool hike up to Cascade Falls another day and enjoyed just walking the shops and eating at the yummy restaurants in Heavenly Village right next to our hotel.
We seriously love this beautiful place and I am so grateful to live in such an amazing place where we can enjoy such outdoor beauty and breathtaking views!! This is one of God's most amazing and beautiful places on the earth!
On our third day there we had a little accident happen where Lilly bit a hole in her lip on the side of the pool! It was so sad. We ended up taking her to Urgent Care and she got one stitch put in to help close up that little hole. She was such a trooper and did great for the whole ordeal. Can't believe that this was our very first visit for stitches out of all our kids! We are just grateful it wasn't any worse and that everything worked out fine. So glad Kristin and Neal were there to help with the other kids.
We are so grateful to have our family and cousins live so close to us so that we can enjoy fun trips like these together and build these lasting memories for our families!!

Santa Cruz weekend with Grandma and Grandpa

March 19-20th- We had a weekend free of basketball games and commitments so we packed up the kids Friday after school and headed to San Jose to visit Grandma and Grandpa and spend a day at the beach in Santa Cruz on Saturday. It was SOO nice to escape the crazy schedule at home and just hang out and explore and have some good family fun for a couple days. And what better place than at the beach! This is my happy place :)
We got up early Saturday morning so we could make it to see the tide pools at National Bridges State Park and beach and then we headed down to the Santa Cruz Boardwalk to enjoy some warm sun and sand and let the kids experience the Boardwalk for the first time. We let them ride one ride and we walked the pier and relaxed at the beach for a bit. We then of course had to finish the day at Maryanne's with our favorite ice cream!! Yum!!! I love spontaneous trips like this!!
